Solstice weekend

by rainbowwitch13 @ 2008-06-22 - 20:58:24

Having been away on Thursday/Friday - it was fantastic to be back in my own home again. Didn't do a great deal I admit, but Impi had two one and 1/2 hour walks on Saturday. On Sunday we went down to Cayton Bay beach and clambered over the mud bank to get to the far end of the beach. We were in our bare feet and mud is extremely slippery under these circumstances, the wind made things much more difficult as well. We didn't find any fossils today, so clambered back over the mud as the tide was still too close to shore to walk aroudn the mud bank. Then we too Impi swimming in rock pools. She doesn't care for this, but does it to get the rocks we throw in, over time she'll hopefully become a stronger swimmer and more confident when the waves come in and drench her. We washed our feet and Impi in the fresh water that flows out from under the old mill and then walked up home via the Highland Cattle field. The wind has been so strong today - all the vegetable plants have been stripped of their foliage! Such a shame after all the hard work that has been put into growing them! I'm just waiting for the 60 mph winds to dissipate, I'm fed up of this windy weather. :**:
